About
— Since we were young
A note from the founder.
Passeggiata was built for the traveler who cares where they sit as much as where they go.
Since I was young, travel has been the thing that changes me most. Not the airports. Not the itineraries. The small hours — the café where the light hits the window a certain way, the bar behind the unmarked door where a stranger tells you a story you'll remember for a decade, the stay you don't want to leave in the morning.
Where you drink coffee matters. Where you have that second glass of wine matters. Where you fall asleep matters more than almost anything else. A great stay can save a mediocre trip. A wrong one can ruin a perfect one.
I started Passeggiata because I got tired of scrolling. Tired of the same fifteen listings recycled on every "best of" blog. Tired of guides written by people who'd never actually sat in the chair. I wanted a shorter list. A list of places I'd defend at dinner.
So we walked every arrondissement, every barrio, every laneway. We drank the espresso that was suspiciously expensive and the one that was two euros and better. We slept in the villa and we slept in the €40 Airbnb and we cut everything that didn't stop us in our tracks.
What's left in each edition is the shortlist. The peony bud vase café. The wine bar behind the door. The stay with the window that opens onto the courtyard where nothing happens for hours.
