So we walked the LES at 1am, sat in the Fort Greene café where the espresso is $4 and the light is free, drank in the West Village at the bar with no sign, and slept in the Chinatown loft where the elevator opens straight into the apartment. What's left are the twenty-seven places we still go back to. The sidewalks that hum. The listening room. The 5am walk home.
